Hong Kong Travelogue Part II - Ngong Ping/ The Peak

This post was supposed to be up last week but my laptop just decided to die on me, luckily now I'm still able to use it but I'm certainly fighting with its final moments. Hopefully it can last longer than I think!! Anyway if you haven't already, read my Hong Kong Part I and Hotels Review.

Random but mandatory subway HK shoot!

We checked the weather forecast and went to Ngong Ping on a weekend. Weekdays are always better to avoid the crowd but it was raining and typhoon wasn't totally over. Like the last visit, we hopped on MTR to Tung Chung Station.

After visiting the Tian Ta Buddha, we went to Tai O which is a fishing town located very near or you may say it's inside Ngong Ping, there are buses available at the Ngong Ping village. We missed this beautiful place the first time we visited Ngong Ping luckily we found this little hidden island this time round!

We decided to have a tour around the island by hopping into one of those boats

I was anticipated for the appearance of pink dolphins as written on the brochure but there wasn't any! Asked the boat rider and he said dolphins appear based on their liking, it kept me wondering if there was any of pink dolphins there?

At night, we went to The Peak by taking cab,

Although the night view here is mesmerizing, but we were having a difficult time fighting for everything. The crowd was crazy, and the queue to take the tram car (no cabs willing to came up to the peak so we had to take tram car) was insanely long. I think the queue was about 30-40 minutes? It started raining when the queue was almost ended, very bad experience for us, more to say trauma especially when we entering the tram car.

Travel Tips

1. Avoid weekends for both The Peak and Ngong Ping 360.

2. We purchased our Ngong Ping 360 tickets via travel agency and passports are required upon registration.

3. Transportation to Ngong Ping 360: MTR (Olympic station >> Tung Chung station).

Till then,
